Story About Compassion

Sunday, August 14th, 2011

Once upon a time there was an ant  travelling through the forest one summer morning. His name was Andy. He was busy looking for food to take home to his ant home under a rotting log. Suddenly he heard something,

“Help. Bzzzzz. Help.   Bzzzz.” Andy looked around and saw that a bee was lying on her side, not far from the ant trail. Usually the bees were in the air, or on a flower, sucking up nectar or gathering pollen. Being a compassionate ant, Andy left  his task and scurried over to the side of the bee.

“What happened?” he asked.

“A big gust of wind came and knocked me against that tree limb over there, so I fell to the ground. Thank you for asking. That is so kind and compassionate of you. By the way, my name is Beatrice.” Beatrice smiled at Andy in a way that made him feel all soft and warm inside.

“Do you think that you can fly home?” Andy asked. He felt concerned for his new friend.

“I don’t know.  Ow. My left wing feels stiff.” Trained in Insect First Aid, Andy carefully examined Beatrice’s wing.

“It doesn’t look broken. I think you may need to give it a rest for a couple of days, and then you’ll be all right.”

“Oh my goodness, how will I get home to our hive?” And then Andy did a very compassionate deed.

“I will carry you to your hive.”

“It’s rather far—across the stream, past the rotten log.”

“I’m strong, and I’m determined, and I know how to hop on stones across the stream!” Andy declared. He was determined to help his friend. And so, although it took the rest of the day, they made it to Beatrice’s hive.  And 900 of Beatrice’s sisters came out to thank Andy.

He didn’t have to walk to his ant hill, either.  A whole bunch of the sisters carried him back on a big maple leaf.

Later in the fall, just when food was getting more scarce for Andy’s ant family, a huge present arrived in the form of a comb dripping with honey. Andy’s family  of one thousand ants were very grateful. They knew it had come from Beatrice and her hive members. The thread of compassion that  began with a broken wing ended with compassion for the ants’ need for food. All was well.

Story About Beauty

Saturday, August 13th, 2011

Once upon a time,  all the humans on the earth could see and hear, talk to, listen to,  and feel the presence of their fellow friends living on the Earth—the animals, the plants, and the stone people.  The humans could also see and hear their angel and fairy guardians, and the angels and fairies of Nature—all Beings made of Light and  visiting on Mother Earth to be of service to all of Mother Earth’s children.

Still, even at this time, some of the humans had forgotten their true Divine Nature—that they, too, were made of light inside the costume of their physical bodies.  So we shall see how one little girl who didn’t feel she was beautiful was helped by her Nature Friends to remember her Beauty.

This little girl’s name was Betty and she was five years old. Betty was not happy with the way she looked. She had short, brown curly hair that always stuck out crazily all over the place.  She wanted to have elegant hair like her Aunt Tessie’s long blond hair.  She also wanted to be stronger and bigger like her older brothers Tom and Jim, because then when they teased her, and she said, “Stop,” they would listen to her. She had gotten her school pictures back from kindergarten that day, and she was Not Happy.

So Betty went for a walk in the woods behind her parent’s cabin. Whenever she needed her spirits lifted, she would walk down the woodsmans’ trail and talk to her Nature Friends.  She headed for her favorite Tree, Oliver, an Oak Tree.

“Hey, Oliver,” she said, giving him a big hug. Then she leaned her back against him for he always, graciously, helped her feel relaxed with his solid, rooted energy.

“Hello, my dear,” Oliver said. “Why are you feeling so sad today?”

“Oliver, I got the Worst pictures back from school today. Why can’t I look  all beautiful like Aunt Tessie?”

“Why do you assume that the way you are, your beautiful uniqueness, is not perfect and on purpose for you?” her tree friend replied.

Suddenly, in whirred the fairy twins in a flash of red and green wings—Melissa in red and Melinda in green. They landed on Betty’s head!

“Your thinking is up-side-down,” they said.

Beauty’s inside the glowing Heart.

To live in Beauty is a delicate Art.

Dive within  the swirl of Pink—Beauty’s

How you Feel, not what you Think.

Look out from within and everything you see

Will be as gorgeous as True Beauty can Be.”

Then Melissa flew to Betty’s right, Melinda to her left, took her hands in their tiny fairy hands, and said, “Ready for an adventure?” Betty nodded her head in astonishment , and suddenly she found herself in a whirling galaxy of pink and white light.

“Where am I?” she asked her fairy friends.

“Inside  the Beauty,” replied Melissa.

“Your  Heart’s energy center,” added Melinda.

“Isn’t it fun!!” the twins shouted through the thump, thumping of Betty’s physical heart.

“I feel so happy and blissful  and Beautiful!  All I can see is pink light swirling.”

“Excellent,” Melissa exclaimed. “Ok, we’re going back.” Betty felt Melinda’s hand tighten on hers.

“Hold on tight,” Melinda shouted through the roaring sound that sounded to Betty like a big wind before a summer thunder storm. Then they were back.  Betty was in her body leaning against Oliver’s rough trunk. Melissa  and Melinda were sitting next to a bright yellow daffodil. A flash of red from a cardinal flew by with a song like a tiny waterfall.

“I feel Beautiful,” Betty said, with a touch of wonder. The fairies giggled, and Oliver chuckled within his trunk.

“Now take that feeling and look around,” Melinda suggested.

“Wow! All the trees, the birds, the squirrels are all bright and beautiful.” Melissa flew over and landed on her hand. Melinda followed. Betty looked at her friends with love.

“Everyone you meet, including yourself in the mirror, will now show in their true beauty. And if anyone begins Not to look beautiful—you know what to do…”

“Can I dive into my heart without all of you?” asked Betty, including Oliver too, as she felt he had helped.

“Of course,” the twins replied together.

“Hold your hands on your heart and dive within.

Let the Beauty swirl start and feel a big Grin.

There’s nowhere to go for the Beauty’s there.

Just breathe and see from that bright Pink Air.”

“I feel So much better. I Am Beautiful. Although I’m not sure my school pictures are truly showing my awesomeness.” Betty, Oliver, Melissa, and Melinda all laughed. “I’m going home for dinner, now,” Betty told her friends. She gave Oliver a big hug and kiss, and she and the fairies exchanged fairy kisses.

“I’m glad you remembered how your own Beauty is the best,” Oliver said.

“Thank you so much for helping me, all of you,” Betty replied.

“Your very welcome,” said the twins as they flew to their own home near the little stream.

“My pleasure,” her faithful tree friend said in his deep voice. Betty headed back down the trail.

“I feel like a new person,” she thought to herself. “I’m going to see how I can help with dinner.”
